Torino fans attacked by Bologna ultras leaving bus with shattered windows en route to Rome

A bus carrying Bologna fans was left in ruins after being

attacked by Bologna ultras.

The vehicle was taking a number of Toro fans to Rome for
a Serie A game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
A group of rival Bologna fans were travelling to Naples, but
decided to attack the bus with missiles at the Chianti
motorway services in Tuscany.

Early reports from Italy suggest no fans have been injured.

A Torino fan on the bus told Corriere Torino:
“We were going by bus, we stopped at the first motorway
after Florence to have a coffee.

“We did not realize, at least not me, that behind us we had
just stopped a coach of Bologna fans, who were going to
Naples.

“Suddenly we heard dull hits, we were throwing ourselves
against everything, especially stones and stones, I do not
know where they got them.

We saw the back window of our bus shatter, the police
arrived shortly after, they escaped, I do not know who they
were.”

By the time the local police had arrived, the criminals had
disappeared to bring  to an end another week of shame for
Italian football.
