The Rabiot case, Barcelona gives a formal statement

Barcelona has refused to have made an illegal approach to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, but admits he was interested in the player.

The 23-year-old finishes the contract at the end of the season so he can speak to clubs outside France starting January 1. According to reports, the Spanish club has started contacts with Rabiot through its representatives.

But that would break the transfer rules and the club has officially denied it.

"There is no unethical approach as far as the PSG player is concerned," says Barça's press release.

"The only contact we had was last August and now a week ago.

In both cases, the contacts were in the presence of PSG leaders. Barcelona has always wanted to work transparently with each club. "

The radio has recently stated that it will not renew the club and is expected to leave in the January market.
